Be prepared, be confident
Representing yourself in the court of public opinion can be a harrowing experience for the uninitiated. Share price, employee morale, board confidence and your personal and business reputation can all hinge on how well you can make your message heard and understood by media.
A solid understanding of how the media works, what journalists want and how to deliver what they need is essential.
Theory backed by industry experience
Plenty of agencies claim to have the know-how, however few offer decades of media experience.
Grounded Communications’ principal Daniel Moloney is a former journalist with more than 20 years’ media and public relations experience. Daniel has extensive experience not only as a journalist but as a media spokesperson, fronting television cameras and radio microphones regularly on tough issues like critical transport incidents and industrial disputes.
We know how journalists think and how they operate because we’ve been there, and we’ve done that.
We have trained numerous CEOs, executive teams, managers and board leaders from corporates, industry associations and not for profits.
Using industry standard camera, sound and lighting equipment and people with real journalism experience, we offer the most authentic and effective training available. Our training is fully tailored to you and your organisation. As well as theory grounded in our real-life experience, we design practical exercises that mimic real media engagement and are based on the sorts of issues you are likely to face. We offer one-on-one or group training catering to all levels, from novices to seasoned performers looking to polish their presentation for a specific announcement or issue.
We don’t believe in “shock and awe”. We progressively and sensitively build knowledge and capability so that participants can engage with media with confidence, credibility and conviction.
